Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using AgentCompare.ie.

1. Who we are

AgentCompare.ie ("we", "us") helps property sellers, buyers, and landlords in Ireland find suitable property specialists. We are the data controller for personal information processed through this website. You can contact us at hello@agentcompare.ie.

2. Information we collect

  • Information you provide: address or Eircode, property details (type, bedrooms, selling timeline), email address, and any other details you submit.
  • Buy + sell intent details: in buyer flows, we may collect whether you need to sell before buying and the county/area of your current property.
  • Contact details for valuation requests: if you request a valuation, you may provide your full name, phone number, and email so the selected agency can reach you.
  • Optional mortgage review preference: if you opt in, we store that preference and may share your contact details with our QFA-approved mortgage partner panel.
  • Letting and management requests: if you request landlord support, we collect service type, location, occupancy or portfolio context, timeline, and contact details.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, clicks, and basic device information used to keep the site running and improve performance.
  • Local storage: we use browser storage (for example, session storage) to remember your search details during a session.

3. How we use your information

  • To build your shortlist of agents and show comparison results.
  • To deliver valuation requests either to one selected agency (default) or, when you opt in, to up to three shortlisted agencies.
  • To record and enforce your contact-consent choices for valuation requests.
  • To route buy + sell (chain) enquiries to the right internal follow-up queue.
  • To review and triage letting and property management requests before matching suitable specialists.
  • To support optional valuation journeys when you choose to start that process.
  • To arrange an optional mortgage review if you explicitly opt in.
  • To send an optional concierge check-in email if you explicitly opt in.
  • To respond to inquiries and provide support.
  • To maintain site security, prevent abuse, and improve our services.

4. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

  • Consent: when you request a valuation or contact us.
  • Contract: to provide the service you request.
  • Legitimate interests: to operate, secure, and improve the platform.
  • Legal obligations: where we must comply with applicable laws.

5. How we share information

  • Agencies you choose: for seller requests, we share your details with one selected agency by default, or with up to three shortlisted agencies when you explicitly opt in.
  • Manual fallback: if an agency declines, does not respond, or delivery fails, we may follow up manually before suggesting alternatives.
  • Mortgage partner panel (opt-in only): if you tick the mortgage review option, we may share your name, phone, email, and basic property context with our QFA-approved mortgage partners so they can contact you.
  • Service providers: hosting, infrastructure, and operational tools that help us run the site.
  • Letting and management specialists: when you submit one of these requests, we may share your details with suitable providers after manual review.
  • Legal requirements: if required by law or to protect our rights.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. International transfers

Some service providers may process data outside the EEA. When this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

7. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes. We then delete or anonymize it.

8. Your rights

You have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, and to request data portability. You can also withdraw consent at any time. To exercise your rights, contact us at hello@agentcompare.ie.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission in Ireland.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, so please use the site responsibly.

10. Children

AgentCompare.ie is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will post an updated version on this page.
