The worse machinery auction house I've ever delt with. I've sold goods in over seven machinery auctions in Ireland and UK, this is by far the least professional. Be prepared that when you agree to drop goods off that they will tell you they won’t accept them when you arrive. I called John and said I have some new products for his auction and asked when can i drop them down? He told me what day they are accepting entries and to call him back then. He also said do you know how auctions work? You wont get good money for the stuff.. I said thats ok, I understand. He asked me to send him on pictures of the goods, I sent John pictures and reserves via whatsapp. I waited 2 weeks to the dates he said and called him, he said yes drop them down tomorrow. I did add a few used items to my truck, after a full day assembling goods, loading the truck and travelling to Portlaoise upon arrival I spoke with a lovely lady who passed me to Ciaran, Ciaran asked me who said I could come ahead with this goods then his father John said it was him. Then John and Ciaran had a discussion at the counter and Ciaran made a few childish sniggers and said "sure we can’t sell that stuff", very unprofessional conduct from someone who is apparently ACA accredited. After this, “I said you told me to come down I didn’t expect you to then make a decision if you would take the stuff or not, especially after I send pictures and reserves earlier”. They said "we do things different here than other auctions”, obviously they do! Then after viewing the items they said they would take them, I was thinking it’s not up for discussion…. then they both retreated to the office and John came out and said he wouldn't take them, that "the reserves where all bumped up" there were new engines in the product list with an RRP of €489 with a reserve of €100, how is this bumped up? After far too much toing a frowing they agreed to take the goods as long as they where unreserved, I agreed as I didn’t want to waste any more time on it. John tried to explain how an unreserved auction works, I’m not that green! When I was leaving the auction I realised I didn’t give them my email address I went into the office and spoke to two well mannered ladies who told me they don’t need the email address as they post out the cheque. The usual thing that auctions do when an item is unreserved they write UNRESERVED on the auction listing to generate more interest. They did not do this, I don’t know why. The auction was on a Saturday, John calls me on a Sunday morning to go over the reserves, even though I entered the items unreserved!! Although it was very unprofessional to ring on a Sunday morning, I do appreciate Johns reasoning and point of view that he didn’t want to screw me. Two weeks later, I get a text from Ciaran that he has sent me an email looking for an invoice, he sent it to a generic email address for our company that I wouldn't see. Even though that when I offered my email address they didn’t take it and now they are sending emails to people within our organisation that the information doesn't concern.
