Not a pleasant experience in my view. Mark failed to take instructions regarding clearance of our parents house and as a result, items were cleared out by a third party. We never recovered any of the items. We had explicitly told him not to do anything before we arrived to make sure things were not discarded that we wanted to keep. Quite emotional experience and I'm still reeling over it. Disgraceful and never actually received an apology for this. We did get compensation for one painting but only after a lengthy ordeal. My sister was extremely upset over this too. This occurred Early last year. I certainly would never use Bennett's or recommend them.

I recently bought an apt with Bennetts Auctioneers and it wasn't a pleasant experience. Not because the process took long, it actually went quite fast and straightforward as I had all the required papers and funds in place, but because of the challenges that were imposed by the real estate agent looking after the property I was buying. From the very beginning, I was challenged if I had the funds to buy it - which my documents and employment confirmation proved I was more than qualified for. After the property survey and some foundational issues being found, there was no dialogue. Part, for sure, from the vendor, but the real estate also wrote messages saying "take it or leave it". Both broker and solicitor had mentioned that the agent was being unusually "unreasonable", based on their experience. I understand the real estate was working for the vendor, not the buyer, but I'm still a potential client and there is still some business conduct to be maintained with both sides. Yet, it didn't work like that for me. Throughout the three months, I felt the whole time that the agent was "allowing me" to buy it. Which, by no means, was the case. The whole experience made me feel so bad that I actually discussed with my solicitor if I was being subjected of discrimination. While I can't affirm the poor treatment I received was due to my race, nationality, or skin color, that thought came to my mind multiple times while dealing with the agent. For that, I can't say I would recommend this agency nor I would seek for their services in the future. I can't say either that all their agents handle sales with foreigners in the same way - provided the diminishing treatment I received was due to my nationality/race. But this was an unfortunate transaction - one that I hope to put behind me now that I have my keys.
